Mike Dempster has been coaching youth since 1993 and has been coaching competitive ASA softball since 2001. During the summer Mike coaches the 18A Oregon Fury ASA team. He is also a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, and the Oregon Coaches Association.

Mike started coaching high school varsity athletics at Horizon Christian with the 2008 season. After two seasons, his career record is 18-30 with a record of 12-16 in the West Valley League play. 2009 saw a fourth place finish in the league with an 8-6 record (season 12-14), and our first official WVL Playoff game was played for the first time in team history.

2010 Outlook: Horizon Christian is a growing program which will return Jr. pitcher Gracie Dempster (1st Team All League infielder, all state honorable mention) and So. pitcher Anna Dempster (2nd Team All League pitcher). The team is anchored by a returing lineup of Sr. Becca Creamer, Jr. Victoria Mortensen (honorable mention infielder), and So. Claire Paul. The year looks promising with new players coming to the team that will bring depth to the Varsity squad.
